May 5, 2016 – JVS is proud to announce that its eCycle Opportunities subsidiary recently earned R2/RIOS certification, ensuring best practices in electronics recycling and data security. eCycle Opportunities provides certified secure data removal, IT asset management and environmentally responsible recycling while providing jobs for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

“Achieving R2/RIOS certification demonstrates a commitment to high standards,” said Stacey Lareau, JVS director of business development. “The certification shows that our work is carried out in a manner that protects people, the environment and data security.”

In addition to recycling electronics dropped off by local citizens, eCycle Opportunities helps local companies and organizations manage their electronic assets. Oakland County, Lawrence Technological University, The Jewish Community Center of Metro Detroit and others currently contract with eCycle Opportunities for e-waste management.

“Our R2/RIOS certification gives companies and organizations  the assurance that their data is handled securely, and that none of their equipment ends up in a landfill,” explained Lareau. “It also provides the same benefit to individuals who want a convenient, safe and secure way to properly recycle their electronic goods.”
