JVS Honors imageOne With 2017 Business Leadership Award

JVS is proud to recognize the passion, drive and creativity of a local business at the 20th annual Strictly Business Networking and Awards Luncheon. JVS will present its 2017 Business Leadership Award to imageOne, an Oak Park-based print management company, for innovative employment practices and commitment to community.

Company partners Rob Dube and Joel Pearlman started their first business back in 9th grade selling Blow Pops out of their school lockers. The pair learned many valuable lessons as young entrepreneurs, including how to work as a team to deliver outstanding service.

Today, Dube and Pearlman foster a company culture that strives to exceed customer expectations. At the same time, they provide an empowering work environment where employees can thrive and share in success. Having earned local and national recognition numerous times as a great place to work, imageOne employs human resources practices designed to improve the lives of their employees and make a positive impact on the community. In addition to typical vacation and holidays, the company offers extra paid days off: a community service day, birthday, and surprise Friday.

“While offering generous employee benefits, imageOne has established an empowering and collaborative environment for their employees, which cultivates energy and creativity,” said Randy Rubin, Strictly Business co-chair. Rubin’s company, Crypton Fabric, is a previous Business Leadership Award recipient. “Their strong commitment to community is authentic: they pay employees to volunteer in the community and donate a percentage of profits toward autism-related causes.”

Nearly 800 business and community leaders are expected to attend Strictly Business, which will feature Tom Wilson, president and CEO of Olympia Entertainment, as keynote speaker. A fundraiser to support JVS programs that help metro Detroiters build their lives and careers, the luncheon event is co-chaired by Rubin and Jeffrey Tischler, of Conway MacKenzie.
