The JVS Senior Service Corps is available to assist nonprofit organizations with their special projects. The Corps helps metro Detroit synagogues, churches, and nonprofits save time and money by taking on their meticulous tasks of mailing, assembling packets, wrapping gifts, processing invitations, labeling, stamping, and other special projects. Services are free of charge.
Organizations that make use of the Senior Service Corps include Gleaners Community Food Bank, Volunteers of America, Arts and Scraps, and the Greening of Detroit World Medical Relief. For more information, please contact Barbara Peltz or Yona Kahn at bpeltz@jvsdet.org or (248) 233-4432.
“Our dedicated seniors are on a mission to provide a meaningful community service in the area,” said Barbara Peltz, Senior Service Corps coordinator. “These are organized and devoted senior adults who are enthusiastic about working. They’re friendly, fun, and in addition to meeting new people, they love feeling useful!”
