In today’s job market, mastery of Microsoft Office may help you land a new job or snag a promotion. The David B. Hermelin ORT Resource Center offers “Better Job Opportunities,” a 12-week course in Microsoft Office 2010 for unemployed or under-employed Southeast Michigan residents. The course begins Jan. 6, 2014.
Students receive 72 hours of hands-on classroom training (two 3-hour sessions per week) that covers basic Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Access®, Publisher and Outlook®. Upon completion, participants earn a proficiency certificate. The program also includes job preparedness training and seminars.
Space is limited and an application is required for eligibility. The course fee is $720; however, students who are unemployed or underemployed may qualify for scholarships made available through funding from ORT Michigan and The Jewish Fund. The David B Hermelin ORT Resource Center is located inside the Jewish Community Center at 6600 W. Maple Road, West Bloomfield.
