New Development Officer Joins JVS Team

JVS is pleased to welcome Michael Silverstein as chief development officer. He will be responsible for the agency’s development strategy and fundraising, including donor stewardship. Silverstein replaces Fran Victor.

A Troy resident, Silverstein previously served in senior development roles in academia, including director of development for Oakland University School of Business Administration and major gifts officer at Wayne State University Law School.

Previously, Silverstein held positions in both sales and marketing with such firms as Steelcase Inc., GMF Robotics and Saturn Corporation.

We have a strong and passionate group of donors and volunteers and I can already feel their energy.”

This year marks JVS’s 75th anniversary. The Southfield-based agency helps people from all walks of life maximize their self-sufficiency through job counseling, training and a wide range of programs and support services.
